Trained as a Medical Doctor and later specializing as a therapist, I spent years searching for approaches that went beyond symptom management and created real, lasting change. Through years of personal exploration and working with clients, I discovered the transformative potential of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy to help people access deeper layers of healing, insight and change.

how thIS medicine helps

Among the different substances used for microdosing, I choose to work with psilocybin because of its unique balance between accessibility, safety and therapeutic potential. Unlike a full psychedelic experience, microdosing involves taking very small, sub-perceptual amounts of psilocybin, allowing you to continue your daily activities while gently working with the medicine over time. This makes it a powerful tool for personal growth, habit change and integration, even without the intensity of a full medicine journey.

From a scientific perspective, psilocybin interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain and appears to temporarily increase communication between different brain regions while reducing activity within the Default Mode Network (DMN), a network associated with habitual thinking, self-criticism, rumination and rigid patterns of behaviour. Research also suggests that psilocybin may support neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to form new connections and adapt. Together, these effects may create greater mental flexibility, making it easier to step outside automatic patterns, explore new perspectives and reinforce healthier habits, behaviours and ways of relating to yourself and others.

In simple terms, microdosing may help you become more aware of the patterns shaping your life while creating greater openness to change. Will I feel "high" while microdosing?

Is Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy right for me?

No. A microdose is specifically designed to be sub-perceptual, meaning the amount is too small to create a psychedelic experience like a full medicine journey. Instead, many people report gradual improvements in areas such as focus, creativity, emotional wellbeing and self-awareness, making microdosing a gentle yet powerful tool for personal growth and lasting change.

How quickly will I notice results?

Will I lose control during the experience?

Every person responds differently. Some people notice subtle shifts in awareness, mood, focus or energy within the first few weeks, while for others the changes are more gradual. Most people benefit from following a microdosing protocol for at least 6–8 weeks, allowing enough time for new habits, perspectives and behavioural changes to develop. The goal is not to create an immediate breakthrough, but to support meaningful changes that build over time.

Do I need previous experience with psychedelics?

What if I have a "bad trip"?

Not at all. Many people use microdosing as their first introduction to psychedelic work. Because the doses are very small and combined with professional guidance and coaching, it can be an accessible and supportive way to begin exploring personal growth and self-awareness.

Can microdosing be used alongside a psychedelic-assisted therapy journey?

Are there situations in which Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy is not recommended?

Yes. Microdosing can be used either as a preparation tool before a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy journey or as an integration practice afterwards. Before a journey, it may help increase self-awareness and clarify intentions. Afterwards, it can support the integration of insights by helping new habits, perspectives and behaviours take root in daily life.

Can you become addicted to psilocybin?

Can you become addicted to psilocybin?

Psilocybin is not considered physically addictive and does not create the same patterns of dependence associated with substances such as nicotine, alcohol or opioids. In fact, repeated use leads to a temporary tolerance effect, meaning the body becomes less responsive over time. For this reason, microdosing is typically done in cycles rather than continuously. After approximately three months of microdosing, I generally recommend taking a break of at least one month before beginning another cycle. Within a structured and intentional setting, microdosing is approached as a tool for growth, self-awareness and integration rather than something people become dependent on.
